Text Box: Building Brain Bridges
Blair Poole will present an interactive program for students & parents showing what is needed to perform at their instinctive capability level. The foundation for all learning is sensory motor development. With good sensory & motor skills, a child is able to perform, think, & learn better in school no matter what the IQ or environment. Some children never reach the level that they instinctively know they can. Ms. Blair will show how to reach that potential no matter what the present capability level.

Text Box: Gifted & Talented Scholarship Opportunities
Deborah George, Director of Gifted and Talented Services, IISD, will share with the Gifted and Talented parent community about available GT Scholarship Opportunities for summer. She will lead parents and students in a step by step process to apply for scholarships through Texas Association of Gifted and Talented (TAGT).  Other summer events are brought to light as well.  We have had several families in our GT community that were able to get these scholarships in the past and avail themselves of such wonderful enrichment experiences.

Text Box: IISD Gifted & Talented Showcase of Talent
The best of the best of your GT children’s accomplishments are showcased in a  “FAIR LIKE” atmosphere with fun, games, door prizes, popcorn, drinks, pickles, and surprises. Bring some coins and enjoy some of the extra fun events. It also enables IAGT to have a small fundraiser to purchase needed supplies, door prizes, stamps, etc. The Showcase enables all the schools to share their wonderful projects they have accomplished throughout the year.  See all the booths from the participating schools. Be sure to encourage your school to participate.

Text Box: As IAGT enters into its 6th year, we have learned that we are only as successful as the amount of participation offered by  those parents and friends of IAGT.  We invite all with a heart for Irving Gifted and Talented children to join us and make this the best year ever.  We need more people on the Board, as Liaisons for each school, volunteers for special events and whatever one has the time and capacity to give.
