Text Box: RJ Lorenz and his son Ryan's sentiments given at the first presentation of the 2007 IAGT Lori Lorenz Memorial Scholarship
at De Zavala Middle School on March 26, 2007.
They gave a gift of $1000 to help fund the Scholarship.

"Thank you all for coming tonight.  For those of you that didn’t know Lori, I’d like to tell you a little about her and her commitment to our son and his education.  She was always about the kids. First serving as a teacher's aid at Thomas Hailey, then as PTA President at Sam Houston and as Treasurer of (IAGT while our son was in) GT at Mac. (She was) always volunteering, organizing, being involved. I encourage all of you parents to take part in your child’s future…their participation in their education as she did. Ryan and I are honored to present these and future scholarships in her memory.  As she and I agreed, as does the PTA, (IAGT), teachers and administrators, “Our children are our future.”  Stay involved.

Text Box: Lori was fun and upbeat. She was focused on the job at hand. She had a sweet open spirit.  I never had to wonder what she was thinking. She  made a positive difference in many of our lives with her unselfish time and energy in IAGT and PTA. She was easy to talk to and be with. She was my friend.  I sure miss her.

. . . the female, whose plumage is a duller
red with brown, is an accomplished
singer. And they both (male and female)
will  sing all year-long, brightening the snowy backyards as well as the warm spring mornings, sometimes singing a duet.  There was this cheerful coordination between Lori and her husband, RJ, for the sake of their son,  Ryan for his quality GT education and nurturing upbringing. . Lori was found supporting and volunteering with several groups to produce that end.  She definitely brightened every environment with her cheerful countenance.
