Our Mission — The Irving Association for Gifted and Talented (IAGT) is an organization of parents and other individuals who unite to address the unique needs of gifted and talented students. We encourage and endorse policies that support the social, emotional, and intellectual needs of the gifted child.
Irving Association for Gifted and Talented has been serving the Gifted and
Talented population in Irving Independent School District since May 2001. The students and families of this special population have been enhanced over the last fourteen years due to the
wonderful proactive members of IAGT who have been involved and volunteered making a difference in the IISD's Gifted and Talented community.
The best way to understand some of the experiences and needs of your GT students as they enroll in school this fall, is to be involved with other GT families going through the same things or who have already gone through them. There is always room for more volunteers and a need for those with a heart to lead.
As IAGT begins its fifteenth year striving to meet the needs of the gifted population in Irving, your board will be working to educate the public, advocate for our gifted students, and to support parents and teachers alike as they go about the important task of meeting the needs of this special gifted population.
If you are not a member but care about this population and want to get involved, please see our membership page and join us. We can’t do it without you!
Happy 2015-2016 school year!
